One year after Nigerian pop star, Goldie Harvey's death, family, friends and fans remember her.
The singer, who gained international fame as a contestant on the 2012 edition of the Big Brother Africa reality show, passed away at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos on February 14, 2013.
Her record label, Kennis Music, on Friday, released the singer's last video which was shot in Johannesburg just before her death. The video was for her song, Give It To Me, featuring J Martins. According to the label, the video was released to keep her memory in the hearts of fans and friends who love and appreciate her music and life.
Her label mate, Jaywon, also on Friday, released the video to a song he recorded in her memory titled, Jawo Jawo. The video showcased other deceased celebrities and influencers including Nelson Mandela; Nollywood legend, Justus Esiri; BBC's Komla Dumor; Nollywood actress, Bisi Komolafe; ghetto-soldier, Father U Turn among others.
Also in memory of the flamboyant singer, Goldie's god mother, Funmilayo Oyeyipo, on Friday, donated a building to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Gbagalape, Nyanya, Abuja.
Gone too soon
Goldie's death in 2013 came as a shock to her fans, friend, and family. The Gboko Low'e singer had just returned from the Grammy Awards in the U.S. when she collapsed and was rushed to Reddington Hospital where she died.
An autopsy revealed that she died of a hypertensive heart disease which triggered intracerebral haemorrhage.
